If you love someone what do you do to show it? You hug/kiss, even some friends, if you have platonic but intense feelings why is it a crazy idea to have sex without getting romantic? I like seeing people happy whether that's from a gift they received, an orgasm or anything else.

 

You need to ask your friend without benefits why she doesn't want to be your friend with benefits. Some people are OK with it, others are not. Reasons for people to not be OK with it is that they view sex as something to be done only with marriage. Or that they feel casual sex with a friend will screw up the friendship, cause problems if one of the friends gets into a real romantic relationship with somebody else and has to break off the casual sex with the friend. I've been there with a good friend that I wanted to have sex with but she did not for fear of losing the friendship. Ironically, the friendship ended anyway. C'est la vie.

 

Love is love and sex is wonderful. Too bad the two much too often don't come (pun) as a set

Just my opinion but I would find it awkward to have sex with somebody that I did not find attractive or feel some kind of chemistry for.

I have female friends I would sleep with if I had the chance but would not want to marry them.
I feel really comfortable with them or drawn to them and enjoy their company and have some special connection.

Would having sex lead to desiring something deeper?

There would be nothing wrong with it with no romantic expectations from both parties.

I did it once and it's a mistake I will never make again.

There are 3 things that can happen if you have sex with a platonic friend.

1. It's awful for both of you, you feel embarrased but you can probably put it behind you and go back to being platonic friends eventually.

2. It's great for both of you and you both want your relationship to get romantic.

3. It's great for one of you and not for the other. This is the one that's the most problematic, because the one who enjoyed it wants it to happen again and the one who didn't enjoy it just feels embarrased and wishes it never happened.

So you pretty much have a 3 out of 4 chance of things not going well and wrecking your friendship. Personally, a friendship is more important than a booty call. Don't mix the two.

That being said, I do have a long distance FWB. The fact that it's long distance is what allows it to continue without complications.

 

Both have to make sure they not making all the sex just about themselves. Enjoying one another's wants and desires makes for good sex. Trying to constantly be in control will keep you both from freeing the minds and just being lost in the pleasure being created by you both.
